According to Iranian media, the US Military and today’s report on CNN, Iran has test fired nine missiles in what can be assumed to be a response to recent Israeli and US threats against their nuclear program.

In a show of might, Iran test fired 9 missiles in what can be perceived as a response to recent Israeli and United States threats. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired Shahab 3 missiles outfitted with a 1 ton conventional warhead which have a 2000km reach. Also tested were Zelzal and Fateh missiles which can travel over 400km and 170km respectively. Drills conducted in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz were also reported.

A war of words has been waged with an Israeli Cabinet Member stating that Israel “will attack” Iran if their nuclear plans are not halted, while General Mohammed Ali-Jaafari countered that any strike against Iran’s nuclear forces will signal the beginning of war.

Meanwhile, President Ahmadinejad said earlier on Tuesday in a conference in Malaysia that

“We are making all-out efforts to expand peace and security in the world. You should not be concerned about a new war”.

Bear in mind, that this is also the same man who says that Jewish people are the plague of the modern world and Israel should be completely wiped off the map.

“Iran’s development of ballistic missiles is a violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and completely inconsistent with Iran’s obligations to the world,” said National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe.

Previous attempts at offering monetary and goods trade-offs by various countries and the United States in particular, in an effort to halt Iran’s progression in nuclear power have so far been proven to achieve nothing.
