Its definitely just a show... when was the last time America actually able to bring even an ounce of peace in the region??

Even though I am not a big fan of President Bush, the aid that comes from the United States is usually most appreciated, so with that said, I have given my credit where credit is due.

However...you are mostly correct in my eyes about American bringing peace in the region. We have a LOT of peace talks, but yet the violence continues. How much good did talking do during the Lebanon War last summer? How much talking did us well in getting our soldiers back alive that have been missing for 2 years?

I am not saying that the Israeli government is fantastic - various actions disprove that, nor am I saying that American government is all bad either, but I wish for a government that would DO and stop TALKING so much. Talking doesn’t replace strong actions.

But then again, where is the diplomacy in that? ;)

Well he does look dashing in all of his photos, and has a media team with a tiger’s spirit everywhere he goes...so maybe. :)

Here in Israel though when an American diplomat or politician of high regard comes, you think we were heralding in the next messiah. Streets shut down, traffic stops, more than usual aircraft in the sky, etc. It can be quite a show!

I’m very wary of someone who constantly has to play catchup and smooth over previous comments all the time.

Why does someone need to be politically correct all of the time? Change is not an easy thing and it usually comes with a few people (few in this case being quite a large number) disagreeing with the consensus, but it seems to me that the minority who is not infatuated with Obama, are not speaking up.

I wonder why....
